Within the framework of the call RTI-infrastructure, funding is provided for the establishment and expansion of research infrastructure in the field of non-commercial use.

The research infrastructure is intended to improve the technical facilities at higher education institutions, universities and non-university research organisations based in Lower Austria, enable outstanding research and contribute to raising the profile of the region. This enhances the attractiveness and competitiveness of Lower Austria as a centre of science and strengthens its innovative capacity. These benefits are further enhanced through the collaborative use of research infrastructure by multiple organisations.
